Job description
Vice President of Imaging Services | Texas
Are you a strategic imaging executive ready to lead a growing, multi-site health system into its next chapter — including a brand-new 50,000 sq ft cancer and advanced imaging center?
We're partnering with a well-established Level I Trauma and Level I Stroke Center to find the system's next Vice President of Imaging Services — the highest-ranking imaging leader in the organization. This is an executive-level, system-wide role for a forward-thinking leader who can operate above the day-to-day and help shape where imaging is headed: AI, high-end modalities (PET/MR), and service-line growth across a rapidly expanding footprint.
The Scope:
System-wide oversight of Imaging Services across 13 distinct sites of care — including a Level I Trauma/Stroke Center, a surgical hospital, an ambulatory surgery center, satellite EDs, outpatient multi-modality imaging centers, correctional health imaging, and physician office imaging locations
270,000+ procedures annually, with the team growing from ~120-130 employees today to 200+ over the next 3-4 years
5 direct reports (4 Directors, 1 Manager) leading the broader team
Strategic planning, capital investment, and service-line growth at the system level — this is a strategic leadership role, not a department-operations role
What's Ahead:
A brand-new 50,000 sq ft cancer and advanced imaging center, developed in partnership with Texas Tech, opening in 2028 — featuring PET, PET/CT, PET/MR, theranostics (6 dedicated rooms), new LINAC accelerators, and biopsy/line placement capabilities. A radiation therapy background is a plus.
Multiple new sites of care underway as part of an active bond initiative, including a full imaging center in a growing eastern submarket, a new geriatric-focused clinic, and two ambulatory surgery centers (one new build, one acquisition)
Continued expansion of the imaging service line, growing toward a team of nearly 200 FTEs
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's a plus, not required)
A strong, broad-based background in imaging leadership and operations — ideally including advanced/high-end modalities, beyond running a single department at a mid-size hospital
Experience at a 300+ bed acute care hospital or comparable large-scale system
Bonus: experience leading outside imaging as well — IT, laboratory, or other ancillary/operational departments — reflecting a broader, more strategic career trajectory
A track record of thinking system-wide: strategic planning, capital investment, physician and executive collaboration, and service-line vision — not just running operations
Competitive annual salary, commensurate with experience
Relocation support available, plus paid house-hunting and onsite visit
Full benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
Pension plan — vested after just 8 years of service
Tuition reimbursement and continuing education support
Life in the Area:
This role is based in a vibrant West Texas community known for year-round sunshine, affordable cost of living, rich cultural heritage, and easy access to outdoor recreation in the surrounding mountains and desert landscape. It's a great place to plant roots, with a strong sense of community and a lower cost of living than many major Texas metros.
