Description
Title / Position: House Checks person
Position type: Winter Seasonal: Full time. Hourly, Non-Exempt. 7AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday
Reports to: Property Services Director, Real Estate & Lodging Manager
Summary: To perform interior checks of and maintain the safety of the properties in Bromley Village. Take detailed notes of issues found so corrective action can be taken.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Note general conditions, noting any obvious issues out of normal
Ensure windows and doors in condominiums and homes are secure
Check plumbing fixtures for leaks and freeze ups (includes under sinks/vanities)
Ensure lights are off unless otherwise noted
Check fireplace damper and ensure it is closed
Turn off main water supply where possible
Check electrical appliances
Refrigerator is operating
Stove/ovens are off
Turn off hot water
Assist with unit arrival checks for Lodging department when needed
Other duties as needed/assigned

Requirements
Qualifications: At least 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license per insurance guidelines
Must be detail oriented
Punctual, reliable, and professional
Must be able to deal with the public and fellow employees in a professional manner
Adaptable, quick thinking and a team player
Reliable transportation necessary to perform House Checks
Must be able to pass a background check
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates primarily outdoors during the winter and summer seasons. This includes all forms of winter weather found in Vermont. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, mail machines, and fax machines as well as landscaping equipment like shovels and rakes.
Physical Demands :
This is a physically active role requiring several hours of standing and working outdoors. Occasionally indoors using computers and phones as well. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs over uneven terrain.
