Job description

About Dane Street

Dane Street is a leading national provider of Independent Medical Examinations (IME) and Peer Review services. We pride ourselves on delivering evidence-based, objective, and timely medical and specialized professional reviews to the Workers' Compensation, Auto, Disability, and Liability markets.

We are currently expanding our specialty panel to include Vocational Rehabilitation Experts to provide expert analysis and testimony on employability, earning capacity, vocational limitations, and return-to-work matters in complex litigation and claims review cases.

The Role

As an Expert Witness for Dane Street, you will apply your expertise in vocational rehabilitation, labor market analysis, transferable skills assessment, and employability evaluation to assess the vocational impact of injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. You will serve as a neutral third-party expert, providing objective analysis through written reports and, when necessary, oral testimony.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Records Review: Analyze medical records, functional capacity evaluations, educational and employment histories, vocational assessments, wage data, and other relevant documentation.

Vocational Assessment: Evaluate an individual's employability, transferable skills, earning capacity, labor market access, vocational limitations, and return-to-work potential.

Labor Market Analysis: Conduct labor market surveys and assess job availability, wage trends, occupational requirements, and reasonable vocational opportunities based on an individual's restrictions and qualifications.

Expert Reporting: Prepare clear, objective, and well-supported expert reports detailing vocational findings, methodologies, and professional opinions.

Litigation Support: Provide credible deposition and/or trial testimony regarding vocational rehabilitation issues, employability, loss of earning capacity, and labor market considerations.

Requirements

Qualifications

Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, disability management, workers' compensation, return-to-work planning, or related fields.

Certification Preferred: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), ABVE/F certification, or other relevant professional credentials preferred.

Testimony Experience: Required. Candidates must have prior experience providing sworn testimony in depositions, hearings, or trial settings as a disclosed expert.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of vocational assessment methodologies, labor market research, transferable skills analysis, disability and employability evaluations, and earning capacity determinations.

Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex medical, vocational, and employment information into clear, defensible opinions.

Communication: Exceptional writing skills and the ability to meet strict legal and reporting deadlines.

Benefits

Ultimate Flexibility: This is a case-by-case 1099 position. You have full autonomy to accept or decline assignments based on your current schedule and expertise.

Competitive Compensation: We offer attractive hourly or flat-rate fees for review time, report preparation, vocational assessments, and testimony.

Full Administrative Support: Dane Street handles all intake, records organization, and delivery. We provide all case materials through our secure platform so you can focus on your professional analysis.

Efficient Workflow: Standard report turnaround time is typically 5 business days from receipt of all materials.

If you are a seasoned vocational rehabilitation professional with litigation experience and a passion for providing objective, evidence-based vocational opinions, we invite you to apply. Help us bring clarity, expertise, and impartial vocational analysis to complex disability, workers' compensation, and personal injury case reviews.
