n nJob Summary
nS.A. Comunale is seeking a VP of Design. The primary function of this role is to provide managerial support nationwide to the Sprinkler Designers. The Company goal is to continuously grow the revenues of Sprinkler Operations while maintaining profits, satisfying customer’s requirements and maintaining compliance with NFPA guidelines. This position reports to the Vice President, Engineering & Operations and will require a close working relationship with the Sprinkler Design Technical Manager, Sprinkler Design and Blueprint room staff.
nThis job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment with a focus towards administration, organization, reporting, data management, and customer service.
nEssential Duties & Responsibilities
nPrimary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
nnnManage designer schedules and contract deliverables
n
nnDevelop S.A. Comunale BIM standards.
n
nnInterface with Project Managers to review design vs. labor deficiencies.
n
nnDaily scheduling of projects.
n
nnDevelopment of start and completion dates for the designers and monitoring of progress.
n
nnInterface with customer coordination job specific.
n
nnWeekly / monthly reviews of all designers with technical manager.
n
nnOversee current Branch Level Design Managers.
n
nnInterface and develop design / fabrication standards to increase efficiency in fabrication shop.
n
nnContinuing education seminars with design staff.
n
nnInterface with S.A. Comunale design training program.
n
nnBranch office visits.
n
nnJob site visits with design staff.
n
nnBe on NFSA committee.
n
nnAttend group functions with other contractors to gain new ideas.
n

nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
nPlan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the activities and performance of the Sprinkler Design Managers.
nQualifications

nnnHigh School Diploma or GED is required.

nn15+ years of Construction design experience is required.

nn5+ years of experience in a management position is required.
n
nnUnderstanding of Autocad Products. AutoSprink and/or HyrdaTec systems is a plus.
n
nnExperience with Navisworks and basic knowledge of Revit is a plus.
n
nnBIM experience is required.
n
nnNICET level III Certification is a plus.
n
nnKnowledge of NFPA guidelines is a plus
n
nnBachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field is required.
n
nnTravel is required.
n
nnE. License a plus.
n
nnAbility to problem solve is required.
n
nnSignificant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications is required.
n
nnAbility to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required.
n
