VP of Purchasing
Davenport, IA | $140,000 - $160,000 | Relocation Available
Join the senior leadership team of a food distributor and own the procurement, vendor, and marketing strategy that drives profitability and growth.
Must-Haves
5+ years of procurement or purchasing leadership in food or grocery distribution
Proven vendor negotiation skills, including pricing, programs, and supplier funding
Inventory management expertise that improves margin and cash flow
People leadership experience, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
Experience supporting key account retention and new business bids
Onsite in Davenport, IA. Relocation assistance available.
Nice-to-Haves
Marketing and promotional program experience (trade shows, catalogs, product launches)
Private-label or exclusive brand development experience
Freight management or logistics oversight

What You'll Do
Lead procurement and purchasing, keeping inventory lean and service levels high
Negotiate supplier pricing and programs that maximize profitability and vendor participationDirect all marketing initiatives, from trade shows and digital campaigns to sales incentives and product launches
Drive strategic bid analyses for major prospective and existing accounts
Grow private-label and exclusive product lines with sales, category, and culinary teams
Oversee freight control and specialized merchandising teams
Build and develop a high-performing procurement team
