You can feel it coming. The question is who builds the thing that replaces it, and who gets left defending the old way.
I'm working with an early-stage, VC-backed company in the utility AI space that is quietly becoming that thing. Live with some of the largest utilities on the continent already.
They're hiring a quota-carrying VP of Sales who personally lands the defining accounts, then builds the engine and the team behind them.
You'll own the whole commercial motion from the ground up. This is a build-it seat, not an inherit-it one.
It's for someone who already knows the utility buyer cold and is tired of selling inside a big, safe machine.
You might have come up at Esri, or somewhere like it, and watched AI start to reshape everything you sell.
Someone who wants the ownership, the upside and the scar tissue that only comes from building early.
To be clear, this is only for people selling directly into utilities at enterprise level. Ideally SaaS, multi-year deals, not services.
