Custodian (WES & WPS)Position Title: Custodian (WES & WPS), 40 hrs/wk. Full Year. Evenings 2:30pm-11:00pm - Benefits!Job Classification: Non-Exempt/Support StaffUnion Terms of Employment: as per contractQualifications: High School Diploma/GED required Knowledge of skills necessary in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Must possess the ability to read, interpret and follow written procedures of the department, instruction manuals of any machines that he or she may be required to operate, and other job related materials Must be able to operate buffing machines, scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment. Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver's license and transportation (required for positions that provide service to multiple schools) Substitution of qualifications may be considered on a case basis by the Superintendent.Reports to: Facilities DirectorEvaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Regional Educational Support Personnel Association.Job Goal: Maintain the school and grounds in a clean and operating condition for the most conducive educational atmosphere possible at all times.Performance Responsibilities:Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing hard floors with a floor scrubber, and vacuuming as assignedMaintain floor finish on a regular basis stripping, waxing, burnishing and polishing as assignedClean and disinfect all sanitary fixtures and replenishes supplies on a daily basisDust, polish surfaces daily, high and low and move furniture or equipment as requiredWash windows, clean light fixtures, banister, rail, stairway and other items which are subject to collecting dust and cobwebsPerform routine snow removal/ice control chores not done by contract snow removal including all entry ways and sidewalksAssume responsibility, when required, for the opening and closing of the building, determining that all doors and windows are secured and that all lights are turned offCommunicate and remain in contact with students, teachers and administrators in a pleasant and cooperative mannerWork as a team member with the district maintenance staff in the accomplishment of repairs to be completed within his/her area of responsibilityStrive constantly to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employeesFall Mountain Regional School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer Fall Mountain Regional School District does not, and will not, tolerate discrimination or harassment of students because of sex, race, religion, color, creed, age, marital status, familial status, economic status, physical or mental disability, national origin, ancestry, or sexual orientation.
