Bitterroot Health is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Ward Clerk / Telemetry Technician to join our Nursing Department in beautiful Hamilton, Montana. This unique dual-role position combines administrative support with patient monitoring responsibilities, making you an essential member of our healthcare team.About the RoleAs a Ward Clerk / Telemetry Technician, you will provide clerical support for the Medical-Surgical, SWING, Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), and Birthing Center units while also monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry. This position plays a critical role in supporting clinical operations, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring timely recognition of cardiac rhythm changes that may require immediate attention.Key ResponsibilitiesWard Clerk DutiesAnswer and direct incoming phone callsContact providers and facilitate communication between care team membersCoordinate department paperwork and documentationEnter and maintain information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Support daily operations of Medical-Surgical, SWING, CDU, and Birthing Center unitsAssist with administrative and clerical functions to ensure efficient patient care deliveryTelemetry Technician DutiesMonitor cardiac rhythms, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and continuous pulse oximetryObserve telemetry patients across inpatient and outpatient settingsRecognize and respond appropriately to basic and life-threatening cardiac rhythmsCommunicate significant rhythm changes to nursing staff promptlyMaintain accurate telemetry monitoring records and documentationWhat You BringEducationHigh School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) requiredLicensure & CertificationsSuccessful completion of a Telemetry Course within six months of hireSkillsBasic computer proficiency and ability to work within an Electronic Medical Record systemKnowledge of medical terminologyAbility to recognize and interpret basic cardiac rhythmsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication and multitasking abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environmentBitterroot Health is a non-profit organization and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer
