Warehouse IT Support Specialist
Our client is seeking a hands-on Warehouse IT Support Specialist to support critical technology operations inside a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting hardware, supporting warehouse technology, working directly with end users, and helping keep automated warehouse operations running smoothly.
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Location: Plainfield, IN (100% Onsite)
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $35-45/hr W2 (Flexible for the right candidate)
What You’ll Do:
Provide hands-on IT support for warehouse operations, including barcode scanners, RF devices, handhelds, industrial PCs, workstations, and warehouse automation equipment.
Configure, deploy, and maintain RF devices, mobile terminals, and warehouse technology using mobile device management tools.
Install, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot label printers, letter printers, Windows workstations, and warehouse IT hardware.
Support Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) through initial troubleshooting, issue documentation, and proper escalation while helping maintain network connectivity for warehouse devices.
Receive, inventory, deploy, and maintain IT equipment while supporting warehouse automation projects, system rollouts, and critical production issues.
What Gets You the Job:
5-10 years of hands-on IT support experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
Experience supporting RF scanners, handheld devices, barcode technology, label printers, Windows PCs, and other warehouse hardware.
Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), mobile device management tools (such as SOTI), and warehouse networking.
Experience troubleshooting industrial hardware, automation equipment, or PLC-connected systems;
basic PLC diagnostics are preferred.
Ability to work onsite full-time in Plainfield, IN, with flexibility to support occasional overtime and 2nd shift operations as business needs require.
