Job description

Warehouse LeadThe Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating order fulfillment, maintaining accurate inventory, staging materials for field crews, and overseeing warehouse staff to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role requires hands-on warehouse experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a consistent focus on accuracy, safety, and service.ResponsibilitiesJob Duties (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, order picking, staging, and inventory control.Lead and support a small warehouse team by assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and ensuring accuracy in all workflows.Coordinate the staging of garage doors, openers, and hardware for residential and commercial installation crews.Manage the fulfillment process for wholesale customer orders, including staging, packaging, and occasional delivery assistance.Monitor inventory levels, conduct routine cycle counts, and communicate restocking needs to appropriate personnel.Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment; oversee regular equipment maintenance.Maintain clear and professional communication with installation managers, service technicians, office staff, and customers.Assist in onboarding and training new warehouse staff, promoting best practices in organization, safety, and operational efficiency.Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time at their sole and complete discretion.QualificationsExperienceA minimum of 3+ years of experience in warehousing, including inventory handling and logistics (door industry or construction preferred)Preferred ExperiencePrior leadership or supervisory experienceEducationA minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.Required SkillsForklift certification required, or willingness to obtain through company-provided trainingSolid understanding of warehouse operations, including material staging, inventory management, and shipping/receiving proceduresFamiliarity with garage door components, track systems, and related hardware is a plusProficient in basic computer skills and inventory software; experience with handheld scanners or tablets preferredStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to delegate effectively and collaborate across teamsExcellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesReliable, proactive, and team-oriented with a strong work ethicAbility to lead by example, train new team members, and promote best practices in safety and efficiencyValid Driver's License requiredWork ConditionsThis position operates in a warehouse environment and involves frequent physical activity.Employees are required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift or move items up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.The work environment may be subject to temperature changes, including non-climate-controlled areas during summer and winter months.Exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical equipment is common.Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, must be worn at all times.Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend shifts based on operational needs.Overtime may be required during peak periods.Physical RequirementsRepetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, and kneeling required.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.Job InfoJob Identification 4944Job Category Material HandlingLocations 440 N Quay St, Kennewick, WA, 99336, USBrand Wayne Dalton Sales and Service
