Position Overview
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all warehouse activities including receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products in a manner consistent with Company service and cost objectives.
Essential Job Functions
Shipping/ReceivingManage, coordinate, and assist with the unloading of inbound shipments, placement in preferred bins, orderly stacking of product, to ensure visibility of product labels and identification of product for picking and inventory management.
Oversee and participate in the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork on purchase orders and customer orders, ensuring that all product is properly identified and counted.
Prepare and process returns to vendors and receive against purchase orders upon receipt of replacement product.
Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers, facilities, and the communication between transport services to ensure efficient deliveries.
Delegate logistics research to Logistics Specialist
InventoryOperate/facilitate quarterly physical inventory. Assure the integrity of the inventory. Notify, prepare, and train staff to ensure quality of count.
Maintain product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. Rotate product as appropriate and assist with stock rotations.
Manage inventory controls, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
Maintain and/or develop action plans for productivity and loss prevention
Labor ManagementDirect the operations of the warehouse staff to achieve prescribed objectives and goals. Manage the performance evaluation system for all warehouse employees, including recommending wage increases, discipline, and terminations. Ensure all documentation is updated in a timely manner.
Interact with Operations, Purchasing, Inside and Outside Sales, Human Resources, Accounting, Customers, and employees. Act as a liaison between employees and top management.
Train and manage a warehouse team to solve daily operational issues
Reach short- and long-term goals
Assists in the acquisition of new talent
QualityEnsure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Review feedback, monitor work processes, and ensure quality of services provided and customer service standards are met
SchedulingEstablish work schedules to maintain sufficient staffing within the department. Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that the jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
Safety, Sanitation, SecurityMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standard practices and procedures. Conduct and complying operations in accordance with OSHA, and MSDS Standards.
Act as local trainer for new employees and recertification of employees for material handling equipment operations safety
EquipmentEnsure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, radio frequency equipment, and computers.
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed
Non-essential Job Functions
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Performs other allied duties as assigned by the COO.

Education/Experience
Associates degree in Business, Operations, or related fields, or in lieu of, High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Familiarity with personal computers, radio frequency equipment, and materials handling equipment is essential.
Certificates/Licenses Required
Forklift Certification preferred.
Other Skills/Abilities
Ability to self-motivate, and ability to consistently deliver highâ€quality work product.
Ability to thrive in an environment which is both ad-hoc, as well as an environment in which one must play multiple roles to support the organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work environment consists of an indoor, climate-controlled atmosphere. Noise level in the office is quiet to moderate. Noise level in the warehouse is moderate and occasionally loud.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to operate forklift and hand pallet. Lifting required up to 60 pounds daily.
