Role Description
The Warehouse Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Norfolk, US, responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations in support of plastic recycling and material distribution activities. This role manages receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials, monitors inventory levels, and ensures accurate stock records to meet production and customer requirements. The Warehouse Manager organizes workflow, assigns tasks to warehouse staff, and promotes safe equipment use, including forklifts and other material-handling tools. The role maintains compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, prepares regular operational reports, and works closely with operations, logistics, and quality teams to optimize space utilization and efficiency. The Warehouse Manager also supports continuous improvement initiatives, resolves operational issues, and contributes to building a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Stock Control and Inventory Control to maintain accurate records, minimize discrepancies, and support planning.
Candidates should possess skills in Inventory Management and Operations Management to oversee warehouse workflows, optimize space and resources, and align operations with production and logistics needs.
Candidates should possess skills in Forklift Operation and other material-handling practices to ensure safe, efficient movement of goods and compliance with site safety protocols.
Experience supervising warehouse teams, including scheduling, performance management, and training, preferably within manufacturing, recycling, or logistics environments.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic office software.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace.
Relevant vocational training or a diploma/degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are an advantage.
