Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage end‑to‑end warehouse operations (receiving, put‑away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and value‑added services) to meet customer service requirements, contractual SLAs, and site productivity and cost targets.
2. Plan, schedule and develop the warehouse workforce—including staffing, training, task assignment, coaching and performance management—to ensure sufficient capacity, consistent execution quality and a culture of accountability and engagement.
3. Own operational compliance with safety policies, OSHA and other regulatory requirements, company quality standards, customer operating procedures and audit/inspection readiness; implement corrective and preventive actions when risks or non‑conformities are identified.
4. Monitor and analyze operational KPIs (service levels, order accuracy, inventory integrity, productivity, labor utilization, safety incidents and cost metrics), use data and system reports to identify root causes and drive structured continuous‑improvement initiatives to optimize performance.
5. Serve as the primary operational point of contact for customers and UNIS leadership, providing clear performance updates, resolving escalations, supporting new business onboarding or process changes and aligning warehouse capabilities with broader network and technology strategies.
Minimum Requirements
1. High school diploma or GED, with the ability to understand and apply operational procedures, safety regulations and performance metrics in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
2. At least 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution or logistics operations, demonstrating a solid understanding of inbound, outbound, inventory control and order‑fulfillment processes in a high‑volume setting.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading warehouse teams, including responsibility for staffing, scheduling, training, coaching and formal performance management of frontline associates or supervisors.
4. Proven hands‑on experience managing and coordinating inbound, outbound and inventory‑control activities (e.g., receiving, put‑away, cycle counts, reconciliation, shipping) with measurable impact on service, accuracy and efficiency.
5. Demonstrated ability to use operational metrics, reports and KPIs to assess performance, make data‑driven decisions and implement improvements across safety, quality, service levels, productivity and cost control.
Preferred Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations Management or a related field, providing a structured understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain and cost‑to‑serve dynamics.
2. Experience working in a third‑party logistics (3PL) environment supporting multiple customers or accounts, with exposure to customer contracts, SLAs and multi‑client prioritization and resource allocation.
3. Practical experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), labor‑management systems and ERP platforms, including report generation, configuration of work‑flows and use of system data to drive operational decisions.
4. Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous‑improvement methodologies, or demonstrable experience leading structured process‑improvement projects with quantifiable results.
5. Experience leading warehouse start‑ups, customer implementations, process redesigns or growth‑related transitions (e.g., volume ramps, layout changes, automation adoption), showing the ability to manage change and stabilize operations quickly.
