Job description

Warehouse ManagerAssigns and coordinates the activities of production workers and flow of material to ensure customers receive orders timely by contributing warehousing information to strategic plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health standards; resolving problems and identifying system improvements.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Manage the movement of goods into and out of the warehouse to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of operations:Load and unload shipments onto or from delivery vehiclesLocate and pull inventory to fill various customer ordersReturn remaining stock material to appropriate storage area in racking systemPackage outbound material per standard packaging methods to ensure safe transitAssess shipments for quality and freight damage upon receiptEnsure receiving documents are entered into the system with accuracyEnsure all shipping documents are required for inclusion with each packageMonitor and submit, weekly time sheets including vacation/personal time and any points collected during the week to accounting.Perform staffing and coaching functions such as selection, training, and evaluation (including 90 day and annual reviews)Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.Review daily production reports, determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimatesMaintains storage areas by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.Keeps warehouse equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.Supervisory responsibilities include directing the work of hourly employees in the warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Able to easily discern numbers to work with weights and measurements, accurately utilizing calculator, tape measure, calipers and scales.Forklift Trainer CertifiedSelf-motivated and committed to safety as demonstrated through previous workAble to stand for long periods of time, bending, pivoting and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassistedComfortable working in fast-paced, hands-on, team environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracyEducation and/or experience: 1+ year(s) of college or trade/technical school required; 2+ years of experience working in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook required; 2 years of experience successfully leading, motivating and coaching a production team required; 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse required.Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning ability: The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, licenses, registrations: Forklift Trainer Certified.Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, bend, pivot and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
