Water Jet Operator - 1st ShiftThe Waterjet Operator sets up and operates waterjet equipment within the Fabrication Department. This role is responsible for producing precision parts by applying knowledge of machining processes, mathematics, and material properties while ensuring adherence to strict tolerances and quality standards.Location: Orrville, OH (On-site)Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for setting up and operating waterjet machines to manufacture precision componentsWork from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and technical instructionsPosition requires calculating dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measuresAligning and securing fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machinesOperator will select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each jobLoad programs, home machines, and verify program accuracy prior to operationMachining parts to specifications using various tools such as grinders, drills, and engraving equipmentPerform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards are metTroubleshoot and resolve machining or equipment issues, deburr, clean, and properly mark finished partsMaintain equipment through routine cleaning and lubricationAccurate recording of production time and output is also requiredPosition requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive liftingMust be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and crouch for extended periodsWork in confined or awkward spaces, use ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environmentRequirements:Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalentHave one to two years of waterjet or related machining experiencePrior experience working in a manufacturing environment is requiredThe ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is essentialExperience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measuresCandidates should have basic computer skills and familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software is preferredThe ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to producing high-quality workProven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneouslyA Generation Ahead by Design™ Investing in people who power the future.
