Water/Sewer TechnicianHere is your chance to join an organization that serves the community in a Water/Sewer Technician position! Coal Creek Utility District's mission is to provide its rate payers with the highest quality, the most cost-efficient water and sewer service, both today and into the future, while meeting the overall public and regulatory approval.Coal Creek offers:Competitive pay of $40.29 - $55.23 per hour in a represented position13 paid holidaysVacation and sick leaveCompany provided clothing and safety gearMedical, dental, long-term disability, life, AD&D insurancePERS, 457 Deferred comp, VEBAJob Summary:The primary responsibilities associated with the position include the maintenance and operation of the district's water distribution system, sewage collection system, pumping stations, and reservoirs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Install, service, and repair water and sewer facilitiesRepair water and sewer line leaksFlushing of water systemsSewer lift station maintenanceSewer main maintenanceSewer main CCTV inspectionsStandby (on-call) dutyMinimum Qualifications/Abilities:Lift and carry up to 100 lbs.Work in inclement weatherWork after hours and be available for on-call statusRead and interpret construction drawings, as-builts, and mapsOral and written communication skillsFollow directions and work within the scope of authorityOperate heavy machinery, specialized equipment, and various hand toolsSkilled in troubleshooting and repair of machineryBasic computer skillsKnowledge of GIS and telemetryMaintain routine records and meet schedules and timelinesRepresent the District to customers and the public in a courteous and professional mannerAbide by District policies, rules, and regulations as set out by the management and Board of CommissionersEducation/Experience:High School diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience in Wastewater and Water Distribution maintenance or equivalent utility experience.Licensing/Certification Requirements:Valid Washington State Driver's License with an acceptable driving recordCommercial Driver's License - Class B with Tanker and Air Brakes or be able to obtain within 1 YearWater Distribution Manager Level 1 or the ability to obtain within 1 YearWastewater Collections Level 1 certification or the ability to obtain within 1 YearWashington State Flagging Card or the ability to obtain within 1 yearFirst Aid/CPR Card or the ability to obtain within 1 yearPre-employment driving abstract and drug screening required.Application Instructions: Please submit all application materials, including a cover letter, resume and 3 professional references to:Coal Creek Utility District nd PL SE Newcastle, WA 98059or email:
