Job description
Serves as the primary relationship manager for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, delivering a comprehensive wealth management experience that integrates banking solutions, investment strategies, and holistic financial planning. This role combines credit and lending proficiency with investment and planning expertise ensuring clients receive seamless, end-to-end financial advice. Coordinates multi-disciplinary teams to craft and execute creative solutions for the client.
nnnProactively identifies and executes growth opportunities within existing client relationships, drives increased wallet share through strategic cross-selling and relationship deepening initiatives.
n
nnDrives complex acquisition strategies for "One Client" delivery through partnerships with Retail, Commercial and Capital Markets.
n
nnDevelops and executes the business development strategy, sales targets and the sales results for the assigned region.
n
nnDevelops internal and external networks and referral sources to grow business in the assigned portfolio / jurisdiction.
n
nnEnhances presence in the marketplace by collaborating with other experts (e.g. internal team, outside attorneys, accountants) to create integrated business development plan.
n
nnActs as the primary Relationship Manager for assigned client relationships
n
nnLeads / assists with creation business proposals or presentations (e.g. relationship plans, financial plans and reviews)
n
nnLeads Annual Client Review with team members to evaluate changing needs, increase communication with client, and implement the client experience.
n
nnProduces client reports that demonstrate the value provided and assesses clients at-risk for retention.
n
nnEnsures timely execution of transactions and requests.
n
nnMakes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
n
nnActs as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
n
nnMay network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
n
nnShares wealth solutions expertise and product knowledge across regional team.
n
nnManages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
n
nnActs as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
n
nnBreaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
n
nnMonitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
n
nnDesigns and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
n
nnBuilds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
n
nnLeads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
n
nnDemonstrates advanced understanding of industry trends and regulatory requirements, applying insights to deliver innovative client solutions and mentor junior team members.
n
nnOversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
n
nnActs as the central point of contact for clients, coordinating all aspects of their financial needs.
n
nnBuilds deep, trusted relationships and delivers personalized advice aligned with clients' goals.
n
nnProvides tailored banking solutions that include credit facilities, mortgages, and liquidity strategies.
n
nnDesigns and implements investment portfolios and wealth planning strategies (e.g. retirement, estate, tax optimization).
n
nnCollaborates with internal specialists for tax, trust and insurance solutions to deliver holistic advice.
n
nnEnsures adherence to regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
n
nnMaintains rigorous risk management practices across all client solutions.
n
nnConducts regular reviews to assess progress toward financial objectives.
n
nnTake measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents (Frameworks, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Supporting documents), laws and regulations.

nnOperates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
n
nnApplies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
n
nnImplements changes in response to shifting trends.
n
nnBroader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

n nQualifications:
nnnTypically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
n
nnMBA certification preferred.
n
nnCertified Financial Planner is preferred.
n
nnExperience dealing with HNW clients and equivalent knowledge base.
n
nnBroad knowledge of all facets of wealth management.
n
nnIn-depth / expert knowledge of Bank products, services and capabilities.
n
nnSeasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

nThe above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.
nSalaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
