We are seeking an experienced and motivated EDM Machinist II to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a key role in producing complex, high-precision aerospace components while supporting safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout the manufacturing process.Position SummaryThe WEDM Machinist II is responsible for setting up and operating Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to support secondary operations and manufacture complex precision components. This position requires hands-on experience with EDM machining, a solid understanding of blueprints and GD&T, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain quality in a production environment. The WEDM Machinist II will play a key role in supporting operational excellence through quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate EDM equipment (including Wire EDM and/or Small Hole, if applicable)Manufacture electrodes and fixtures to support machining processesInterpret blueprints and GD&T to ensure accurate part productionPerform in-process inspections using precision measuring toolsTroubleshoot non-conformances and adjust tooling or machine controls as neededApply knowledge of machine capabilities to optimize processesRecord production data including setup/run times and part quantitiesComplete preventive maintenance tasks and maintain equipment performanceRecommend tooling and fixture improvementsDeburr, clean, and package finished partsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment (5S standards)Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues.QualificationsExperience and Training Requirements:Minimum 4 years' work experience, trade school, vocational education or apprenticeship required.Minimum 2 years' experience in EDM machining.Practical experience with conventional machining, desirable.Ability to use manual inspection tools required.Practical application of machine shop mathematics.Exposure to basic CAD/CAM, desirable.Experience in WEDM and Small Hole, desirable.Education, Licenses and Certifications:High School diploma, or GED required.Trade school, vocational education, or 4-year apprenticeship with 3 years of work experience acceptable, in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.College coursework, desirable.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periodsPerform repetitive hand and wrist motionsAbility to lift up to 25 poundsSafely use hand toolsOur ValuesBeing Accountable – Taking ownership of responsibilities, following through on commitments, acting with integrity, and producing quality results.Being Collaborative – Working respectfully and effectively with others, sharing knowledge, communicating openly, and contributing to team success.Being Empowered – Demonstrating initiative, solving problems proactively, embracing continuous improvement, and making informed decisions within the scope of the position.BenefitsAt Micro-Tronics Inc., we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
