Weekend Machinist / Machine OperatorA growing manufacturing company is adding weekend production hours to meet increased customer demand. We are seeking dependable Machine Operators and Machinists for a part-time weekend shift.This opportunity is open to a range of experience levels. Candidates with basic machining knowledge can gain valuable hands-on experience, while skilled machinists can pick up additional weekend hours performing setups and producing precision parts.Preferred schedule:Friday, Saturday and Sunday7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.30-minute unpaid lunchApproximately 24 hours per weekThe company may be flexible with days and hours for candidates who have relevant machining experience. Experienced machinists who are primarily interested in Saturday and Sunday hours are encouraged to apply.Pay: $18–$30 per hour, depending on experience and machining capabilitiesResponsibilitiesDepending on your experience, responsibilities may include:Operate CNC or other production machinery to manufacture precision partsLoad and unload parts, materials and toolingRead and interpret basic blueprints, drawings and work instructionsUse calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring toolsInspect completed parts to verify dimensions and quality requirementsMake basic machine adjustments and tool changesMonitor machines and identify potential quality or equipment issuesRecord production and inspection informationMaintain a clean, organized and safe work areaFollow established quality, safety and production proceduresPerform machine setups, offsets and first-piece inspections if qualifiedExperience LevelsMachine OperatorCandidates may qualify at the entry or developing level with:Previous experience operating production or machining equipmentBasic ability to read blueprints or technical drawingsExperience using calipers, micrometers or similar measuring toolsMechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to follow detailed instructions and quality proceduresSkilled MachinistMore experienced candidates may qualify for higher pay with:CNC machining experienceAbility to independently set up machinesExperience selecting or changing toolingAbility to adjust offsets and make minor program editsStrong blueprint-reading and dimensional-inspection skillsExperience completing first-piece inspectionsAbility to troubleshoot machining or part-quality issuesWhat Makes This Opportunity Different?This position could be a strong fit for:Machine operators who want to build their CNC machining skillsManufacturing employees looking for additional weekend incomeExperienced machinists interested in picking up extra hoursRetired or semi-retired machinists who want a consistent part-time scheduleCandidates who need a weekend schedule because of school, family or weekday commitmentsQualificationsPrevious machine operation, CNC machining or related manufacturing experienceBasic blueprint-reading abilityExperience using precision measurement toolsDependable attendance and punctualityStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently after trainingAbility to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials associated with the positionApply today with a current resume or a brief summary of your machining and machine-operation experience.
