Job description

Job TitleTo ensure that the daily shift plan developed by the Department Manager and Scheduling is executed and that product quality, departmental productivity, labor efficiency goals, and other objectives are met. To promote and lead LINDAR safety, quality, and productivity programs.Essential FunctionsDirect production personnel as necessary to execute the shift plan developed by department leadership and Scheduling, or to alternate tasks as necessaryProvide effective communications between production teams and department leadershipEnsure accurate and timely production information and documentationEnsure that standard practices and procedures are followedWork with the setup tech team to coordinate and schedule setupsWork with Quality to ensure timeliness of first article part approvals, product quality inspections, and overall product qualitySupport Lean principles and practices and encourage participation in LINDAR safety and Lean initiativesInterview, select, and participate in the on-boarding process of new employeesReview and approve time cards, schedule and approve vacations, develop and monitor employee performance improvement plans, and recommend employee discipline as necessarySchedule employee overtime as necessaryParticipate in team members' performance reviewsOther responsibilities as the business demandsCompetenciesStrong organizational and communications skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeThorough understanding of work instructions, bills of manufacturing (BOMs), production schedules, and other product informationThorough understanding of production data and data collection methodologyAbility to develop, support, and lead a strong teamAbility to effectively manage time in a fast-paced, challenging environmentDesired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentStrong leadership skillsManufacturing background (minimum of 5 years)Supervisory experience (minimum of 3 years)Work EnvironmentProfessional, clean manufacturing environment with safe levels of temperature and sound variationsPhysical DemandsLift up to 50 lbsSignificant amount of walkingPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is an exempt, full-time position (40-50 hours per week)Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
