Job description
Job TitleStarting Pay: $21.50/hour, with the opportunity for a higher starting rate based on relevant experience and qualifications.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists Welder I and Welder II in various welding tasks as directed.Prepares workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping as necessary.Helps set up welding equipment and tools under supervision.Handles and stores welding materials and equipment properly.Operates power tools and hand tools under guidance.Reads and interprets basic welding blueprints and instructions.Assists in tack welding components together for final welding.Supports Welder I and Welder II in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.Learns and follows safety procedures and guidelines at all times.Assists in training and mentoring new helpers as needed.Essential Mental FunctionsCommunicates effectively in written and spoken form.Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.Works effectively in a team environment.Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.Essential Physical FunctionsLift up to 50lbs.Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.Disclaimer: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
