Job description
Weld Quality TechnicianThis role serves as the primary technical lead for Visual Testing (VT) operations, responsible for the practical application of VT procedures and techniques. The Weld Quality Technician provides critical oversight and technical guidance to bargaining unit VT Level II personnel to ensure welding and VT inspection processes meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This position balances rigorous technical inspection with the operational need to maintain production rates and efficiency.Core Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Personnel OversightOperational Quality AssuranceCross-Functional Problem SolvingQualifications & Requirements Minimum Requirements:Education: High School Diploma (Required)Certification: Active Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification (Required)Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of direct Non-Destructive Testing (VT) experienceTechnical Skills: Proven ability to interpret code standards and contractual documents governing VT methodsExperience preparing and verifying the technical adequacy of work instructions and proceduresStrong technical writing skills for documenting inspection procedures and reportsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteOperational Experience: Demonstrated experience working directly with production teams in a manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements: Ability to support "Boots on the Ground" operations in York, PA, including lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing, bending, and standing for up to 12 hours per day
