Job description

Welder/Service MechanicWastequip's mobile division has an immediate opportunity for a Welder/Service Mechanic to support our Lithia Springs, GA manufacturing operation. Wastequip WRX provides repair services and maintenance. The ideal candidate will travel to customers' sites to perform service/warranty repair work. Work may also be performed onsite at our facility.Pay Range: $24.00 - $34.95 (based on experience)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specificationsOn the road doing jobs at client sitesAutomotive/Class 8 truck chassis hydraulic schematic and pressure evaluationMaintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damageVerifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systemsComplies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standardsMaintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and paintingMaintains vehicle records by recording service and repairsKeeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairsContains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts optionsIncrease job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publicationsAbility to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb laddersAbove all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team membersLooking for the right individuals that show integrity, in self and in their workQualifications3-5 years' experience as a Truck or Heavy equipment mechanicAbility to read and comprehend verbal and written instructionsAble to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic components Chassis prep experienceWelding experience requiredProficiency in welding and fabricatingGeneral mechanical abilities with Diesel Trucks or Heavy Construction EquipmentMust have good customer service skillsRefuse (Waste Truck) experience is preferredAbility to ride in a vehicle for long periods of timeCompany Benefits2 Medical Plan Options - Base HSA (High Deductible) and Buy-UpPrescription (Rx) InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)2 Dental Plan Options - Base Dental and Buy-Up Dental PlansVision InsuranceFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA's)Health Care FSADependent Care FSACompany Paid Base Life InsuranceCompany Paid Accident, Death & Dismemberment InsuranceCompany Paid Business Travel Accident InsuranceCompany Paid Disability InsuranceShort-Term Disability (STD) and Base Long-Term Disability (LTD) InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Voluntary Hospital, Accident & Critical Illness (Cancer) Insurance401(K) Retirement Plan with 50% Company MatchVoluntary Pet InsuranceVacation and Personal/Sick TimePaid Grandparent LeavePaid Bonding LeaveAdoption AssistanceEducation Assistance (Tuition Reimbursement)About WastequipWastequip got its start in 1989 with containers and compactors.
