Job description

Welder Position at JCB North AmericaThis position is responsible for performing advanced welding and fabrication operations in support of the production of Skid Steers, Backhoe Loaders, and other heavy equipment at JCB North America headquarters. The Welder will ensure high-quality welds that meet structural, safety, and production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The anticipated application window will close on September 25, 2026.Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key AccountabilitiesPerform high-quality welding operations including semi-automatic GMAW (MIG) welding, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and TIG welding (as required)Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and qualitySet up and operate welding equipment, fixtures, and fabrication machineryPerform fabrication tasks including fitting, grinding, cutting, and preparing materials for weldingInspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety standardsLoad and unload parts and assemblies using appropriate material handling equipmentOperate press brakes, grinders, and other fabrication tools as requiredIdentify and troubleshoot welding defects and fabrication issues, applying problem-solving techniquesSupport continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to improve quality, safety, and efficiencyMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standardsAdhere to all safety regulations and PPE requirements at all timesOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience with MIG welding (GMAW) and ability to perform consistent, high-quality weldsAbility to pass welding test(s) and pre-employment requirements (drug screen, background, etc.)Preferred QualificationsCertification in Welding Technology (AWS or equivalent)5+ years of experience in welding/fabrication within a heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing environmentExperience working with structural steel and heavy-gauge materialsFamiliarity with robotic or automated welding systemsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities & CompetenciesStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specificationsProficiency operating manual, semi-automatic, and robotic welding equipmentExperience with fabrication tools including grinders, press brakes, lasers, and hand toolsHigh attention to detail with a focus on quality and precisionStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracyEffective communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility to work overtime or varying schedules as neededMust wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all timesJob ConditionsBoth office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment.Subject to noise and temperature changes.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those required of an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
