Job description
WelderThe Welder will be responsible for welding with specific tolerances. While training will be provided, the ability to work independently is crucial. We are seeking one welder for the first shift from 7:30am to 3:30pm and a high-level welder to work independently on the second shift from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and install piping systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.Install pipes for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems.Perform welding tasks related to industrial burners, piping systems ranging from ½" to 12", and other fuel oil or steel plate assemblies.Interpret blueprints and fabricate and weld according to specifications.Perform duties safely while producing quality products.Successfully complete weld tests that pass visual and X-ray testing when required.Show qualification in welding per ASME Section IX in at least three welding methods (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW) when needed.Understand various piping applications and assemble carbon and stainless weld pipe and screw pipe.Utilize associated power tools to produce quality products in a timely manner (grinder, saw, drill, plasma cutter, drill press, brake, etc.).Multi-task effectively and work in a team-oriented environment.Essential SkillsMinimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED.2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Capability to interpret blueprints and fabricate and weld to specifications.Knowledge of various piping applications.Ability to operate power tools effectively.Qualification in welding per ASME Section IX in at least three welding methods.Ability to perform job safely and produce quality products.Additional Skills & Qualifications1 to 2-year diploma in welding or related instruction.4+ years of experience in metal forming or in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Forklift certification.Valid driver's license.OSHA 10 certification or greater.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers a chance to grow within a large manufacturing corporation. We require one welder for the first shift from 7:30am to 3:30pm and a high-level welder to work independently on the second shift from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danbury, CT.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
