Job TitleDover Hydraulics, a SunSource company, is a full-service hydraulic repair and engineering company serving the backbone of American industry since 1982. Customers choose Dover as their one-stop partner to reduce downtime and keep critical operations moving.The main role of this position is to read blueprints and drawings, choose appropriate materials, take the appropriate measurements to plan layout and procedures of welding jobs and to determine appropriate equipment and welding methods based on requirements. Setting up the components according to specifications for welding and working closely with Machine Shop manager to determine best course of action and machinists is key to the success in this position.ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSet up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyRequirementsHigh School Diploma Or EquivalentProven experience as welderExperience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG etc.)Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawingsKnowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.)Deftness and attention to detailSuccessful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is requiredProfessional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plusRequired Training ScheduleProcedure DHI-CS- at hire dateHours of WorkDay shiftEqual Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
