This hands-on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You'll contribute directly to ERMCO's mission by ensuring each unit meets our rigorous standards and reflects our core values.ResponsibilitiesInterpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions related to welding and fabricating metal components used in the assembly of distribution transformers. Tasks are performed according to layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures, or oral directions using various welding equipment. Candidates must have prior training or experience and be capable of safely and properly starting up, operating, maintaining, and shutting down equipment. The role requires repeated lifting and moving of materials weighing over 50 lbs., with or without assistance from lifting devices. Use of hand and power tools is essential to complete assigned tasks. All welds and assembled products must meet ERMCO's quality standards. Adherence to all ERMCO safety policies and procedures is mandatory.QualificationsNecessary Qualifications:Ability to follow and understand both written and verbal instructionsEffective communication skills in a team-oriented environmentProficiency in using electronic communication devices such as iPadsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailBasic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measurementAbility to lift/push over 50 lbs. and pull up to 110 lbs.Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneelingSkilled in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers (digital and manual)Proficient in using hand and power tools including drills, air ratchets, wrenches, pliers, and hammersExperience operating overhead hoists and lift assist equipmentVisual acuity of 20/40 (with or without corrective lenses), normal peripheral vision of at least 70 degrees, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusCompliance with all plant safety policies and department-specific safety rulesAbility to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, weld hood, and hearing protectionPreferred Qualifications:3 Years of consistent work history1 year of manufacturing experience1 year of welding experience (School or Job)Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with standard computer systems and applications.Join ERMCO and TRANSFORM your career.Job LocationsUS-TN-Dyersburg
