Job description
Welder/FabricatorThe Welder/Fabricator performs fabrication, welding, installation, modification, and repair of piping, structural steel, and HVAC duct systems in an industrial construction environment.ResponsibilitiesFabricate, fit, weld, install, and repair carbon-steel and stainless-steel piping systemsFabricate and weld structural-steel components, including supports, frames, platforms, brackets, and equipment basesInstall and modify copper, PVC, carbon-steel, and stainless-steel piping using the appropriate joining methodsFabricate, install, modify, and repair HVAC ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, and related componentsRead and interpret piping isometrics, structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and field sketchesPerform accurate field measurements, layout, cutting, beveling, fit-up, leveling, alignment, and material preparationFollow approved welding procedures, quality requirements, safety standards, and work-control processes while coordinating with other tradesRequirementsDemonstrated experience as a welder/fabricator performing both pipe and structural-steel workProficiency with applicable welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and GMAW/MIG or FCAWAbility to pass required structural and pipe-welding qualification tests in assigned positions and materialsWorking knowledge of copper, PVC, carbon-steel, stainless-steel, and HVAC duct systems and their joining methodsAbility to read piping isometrics, structural drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and fabrication detailsProficiency using welding machines, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, saws, layout tools, and measuring instrumentsAbility to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in active industrial environments while lifting and positioning materials and equipmentCompensation & BenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks programExpected Compensation $32.00 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
