Job description

Welder/FabricatorThe Welder/Fabricator is responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding metal components into finished products and subassemblies according to blueprints and engineering specifications. This role involves operating fabrication equipment, using hand and power tools, and ensuring all work meets quality, dimensional, and safety standards. The position also includes material handling, layout work, and finishing tasks to support efficient production operations in a manufacturing environment.Safety is our highest priority. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid disability and life insurance, wellness incentives, paid holidays, PTO, flexible spending accounts, HSA options, a 401(k) with profit sharing, access to Nice Healthcare, employee assistance resources, pet insurance, and additional voluntary coverage such as critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity plans.Health and family care leave is available to both union and non-union employees.Union employee benefits are provided through separate collective bargaining agreementsPosition, align, fit, and weld parts to form units or subassemblies using blueprints, jigs, and hand toolsStudy engineering drawings and layouts to determine material requirements and sequence of workMove, lift, and position materials using cranes, hoists, or manual handling methodsLay out, mark, and verify workpieces using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measuresTack-weld, cut, grind, and prepare metal components to meet specification requirementsOperate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, rollers, drill presses, grinders, and cutting torchesStraighten, shape, and adjust metal parts using hammers, presses, torches, and other hand toolsSet up and use jigs, fixtures, face blocks, and templates for accurate assembly and fabricationRemove defects such as high spots and bevel edges using grinding, filing, and cutting toolsEnsure all finished work meets quality and dimensional standards through inspection and adjustmentThe ideal candidate is a skilled welder/fabricator with strong blueprint reading ability, solid measuring skills, and hands-on experience producing accurate, high-quality welds and assemblies. They are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.Three (3) years welding/fabrication experience requiredAbility to read blueprints and drawingsAbility to use measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, depth gauges, and fixed gaugesAbility to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use. Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours. Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards. Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors. Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.This profile summarizes key duties and expectations but does not list every possible job task.
