Job description
Sheet Metal Welder / FabricatorLocation: Horseheads, NYJob Type: Full-TimePay: $20–$28 per hour, depending on experienceWe are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This position will focus on welding, fabricating, and repairing sheet metal components used to produce high-quality signs and other products.Responsibilities:Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specificationsSet up and operate MIG, TIG, and arc welding equipmentSelect appropriate welding materials and techniques for each projectWeld and fabricate sheet metal components with precisionInspect finished welds for quality and accuracyPerform repairs on metal components, machinery, and structures as neededOperate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters and press brakesAssist with machining and other fabrication processes as neededPerform industrial painting and finishing workMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow OSHA and company safety proceduresWork with team members and supervisors to complete projects on scheduleMaintain equipment and production records as requiredQualifications:Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication and weldingStrong MIG welding experience; TIG and arc welding experience preferredAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawingsExperience with plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication equipmentManufacturing experience preferredIndustrial painting experience is a plusStrong attention to detail and good manual dexterityAbility to stand, lift, and work in various positions for extended periodsStrong safety awarenessAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWelding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plusEqual Opportunity StatementExpress Employment Professionals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
