Job description
Fabricator IIICustom metal fabrication company looking for a Fabricator III with at least five years of sheet metal fabricating experience. Forty plus hours per week to start. Competitive wage and benefits package with room to grow, based on experience and performance.Pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical required for all new hiresFabricators are responsible for understanding and adhering to LEM's Quality Management System and customer expectations to properly weld using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG welding procedures and finish by examining, grinding, and polishing products ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released. Requiring a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship, this position is responsible for a variety of maintenance and production tasks that promote a safe, efficient production environment delivering high-quality products and reports to the Fabrication Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Comply with all quality system requirements and specificationsComply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniformsPerform tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient mannerMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow oral instructions to perform necessary processesConduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrityMaintain all assigned or department equipment according to proceduresIndependently read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine operations and explain to others as necessaryIndependently identify and locate required materials and parts for assigned jobs and explain to others as necessaryMaintain and document proper material tracking throughout project such as deficiency logs; may assist as back up to manager for NCR reportingMaintain correct time keeping throughout project by tracking in project management softwareUse leadership skills to regularly lead groups within a project and mentor new employees as needed for training purposesAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Weld products according to customer specifications and LEM standards using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and is highly proficient in all 3 metal types; exhibiting expert skills by contributing to best practices for welding proceduresProperly setup and safely operate a variety of assigned equipment such as welding machine, ban saw, overhead crane, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, and grainer according to all procedures; exhibiting leadership skill by teaching others as necessaryIndependently examine and feel surface of workpiece for defects and choose the correct tools to grind, polish, smooth, and prepare overall product aesthetics for final inspection, ensuring product outputs meet the specified requirements before product is released; exhibiting expert skills by contributing to best practices for finishing proceduresAssist in other areas of the facility as needed or assigned, including overtime when necessaryNote: All employees are subject to performing, but not limited to the responsibilities given under their job description.Work Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredFive year minimum in fabricatingFabrication skills including but not limited to Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing shop and is highly proficient in all 3 metal typesKnowledge of safety techniques and terminologyKnowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures and regularly contributing to best practices for more complex jobsAbility to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skillsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirementsAdvanced understanding of mathematical principles and knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and countsRead and operate a tape measure and caliperStrong attention to detailSolid work ethic and pride in workmanshipEffective verbal, written, and communication skillsExpert fabrication and finishing skills including but not limited to welding, print reading, examining, grinding, and polishing using appropriate tools for each procedureGood organizational and time management skillsBasic computer skillsBenefitsHealth insurancePaid time off
