Fabrication Welder / Assembler – Rail Gear InstallationInterstate Assembly Systems is seeking an experienced Fabrication Welder / Assembler to install and retrofit aftermarket hi-rail (rail gear) systems on commercial trucks and heavy equipment. This position is ideal for a skilled fabricator with experience in welding, hydraulics, electrical systems, and truck equipment installation.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall front and rear hi-rail gear assemblies on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks.Retrofit commercial vehicles for highway-to-rail operation.Fabricate, weld, and assemble mounting brackets, supports, and structural components.Install hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and high-pressure hose systems.Integrate electrical controls, sensors, safety alarms, and in-cab switches.Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams.Test, troubleshoot, and verify proper operation of completed installations.Qualifications3+ years of fabrication, welding, truck upfitting, or heavy equipment assembly experience.Strong MIG welding and metal fabrication skills.Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.Familiarity with rail gear manufacturers such as Harsco, DMF, or Rafna preferred.Valid driver's license required.What We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePTO and Paid Holidays401(k) with Company MatchCompany-Paid Life and Disability InsuranceCareer Growth OpportunitiesJoin Interstate Assembly Systems and help build specialized rail equipment that keeps critical infrastructure moving.
