Our mission is to drive progress and efficiency through cutting-edge technology, expert service, and an unwavering commitment to safety and sustainability.We are currently seeking a welder to join our rigging team at ASC in East Hazel Crest, IL.Position SummaryThe welder must be able to use welding equipment, instruments and stay within specified tolerances. They must have the ability to maintain production rates and manufacture prints.Duties & ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret manufacturing prints to determine correct fit and tolerances.Understand welding machine operation and fitter/welding burning equipment.Perform all functions associated with welding preparation and welding.Conduct appropriate quality checks of equipment.Determine correct machine settings and tolerances.Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Experience in TIG and general fabrication skills, required.QualificationsMust have basic skill set to operate all welding tools safely and effectively.Ability to work independently in a production-oriented environment.Must be a team player.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Physical Ability RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds).Ability to be mobile throughout facility to communicate with other departments.Ability to use a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for extended periods of time.
