Job description
Job TitlePrimary Responsibilities:Day-to-day production, welding and fabrication activitiesFollow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and othersEstablish priorities and accepts responsibility for efficiently welding and fabrication of materialsInspects and verifies all aspects of the material (grade, size, quantity, measurements, etc.) when welding & fabricating. Reports discrepancies or quality issues to SupervisorScrutinize customer requirements and special instructions to ensure compliance and customer satisfactionFollow all audit and material traceability proceduresInspect and operate all related equipment (forklifts, etc.) in accordance with company and safety guidelinesConducts self in a cooperative, safe, productive and team-oriented manner with supervisors, managers, and employeesPhysical & Work Requirements:Working in a yard or fabrication facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required dailyMust possess the ability to work a flexible schedule.Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environmentAbility to stand, walk, or be mobile for a minimum of eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipmentAbility to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 poundsRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts or chemicals.Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy).Operate company vehicles including forklifts and yard trucksRequired Background, Competencies & Expertise:Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper and micrometer, and other hand toolsProven experience operating material handling equipmentGood verbal and written communicationsAbility to read and interpret instructionsProven basic math skillsAction orientationSafety orientationAchievement orientationResponsibilityThoroughness / Detail orientationTeamworkPersistenceValid driver's licensePreferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:One or more years general work experience preferredAbility to plan and execute short and long term goalsLearning agilityAdaptabilityAbility to read weld symbols and blueprintsAbility to pass weld testQualificationsSkills:Basic math: NoviceForklift: NoviceTape Measure: NoviceOverhead crane: NoviceExperience:Preferred: 1-2 yearsWelding Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper and micrometer, and other hand tools.
