Job description

WelderDaily Thermetrics is seeking an experienced welder to join our rapidly growing welding and production team. A welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape. Duties include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases. The successful welder will ensure that projects are completed safely and accurately, and in a timely manner to meet stringent QA, ISO, customer and work order requirements.This is a welder position in an ISO certified manufacturing/fabrication facility.This is not an entry-level welder position.6G welding assessment and INCO assessment testing will be required.Responsibilities:Design optimal work flow by working with manufacturing engineering and fabrication departments for assigned weld projectsExpertly welds small, medium, and large components of various metals and alloys.Read and comprehend technical drawings, blueprints, schematicsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenKnowledge of metallurgyKnowledge of various welding techniques, including GTAW TIG, MIG, and oxy-fuel weldingKnowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniquesDetermining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSetting up components for welding according to specificationsDocument welding processes that meet engineering product requirements, quality standards, and safety requirements.Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety and maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned.Demonstrate continued high-caliber performance and improvement to reduce errors, scrap, waste to improve and reduce labor and material costs.Coordinate work with multiple disciplines including engineering, designers, drafters, welders, and other production staffQualifications:Graduation from high school, vocational school, recognized craftsman apprenticeship program or equivalentAt least one (1) to three (3) years of proven experience as welderExperience working in a manufacturing/fabrication or machine shop environmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and documents such as WPSs, PQRs, WPQsExcellent technical communication skillsAbility to work independentlyHave a strong mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detailUnderstanding of ASME codes and NDT processesUnderstanding of GD&T and welding symbolsExperience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (helmet, face-shield, gloves, etc.)Professional certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plusSelf-driven initiative to respond to fluid work environment and rapidly changing prioritiesEmployment Details:Full-Time.On-site, in-person in a dynamic manufacturing environmentWill be assigned to either production first shift or second shiftWill work closely with engineering and design teamReports to production shift supervisor.Employee Benefits:100% company paid employee only HDHP medical.100% company paid life insurance.401K with employer match.Medical plan options available (two medical plans, dependent/family coverage options)Health savings account with employer contribution.Flexible savings account.Optional benefits: dental, vision, supplemental life insurance, disability, accident plans.Other:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer other than current employerMust be fluent in English with ability to communicate highly technical terms/ideas; any other language skills are beneficialThis is a physically active position, which requires the physical ability to work in a busy shop/warehouse environment including sitting, standing, lifting/moving 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds, frequently.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.Daily Instruments provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
