Welder Position at Budney Overhaul & RepairWe're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented welder who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and supporting high-quality aerospace manufacturing at Budney Overhaul & Repair. In this role, you will perform TIG (GTAW) welding on a variety of aerospace components, ensuring all work meets strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving technical challenges, and being part of a dedicated team that values quality and accountability, this role offers a stable and rewarding career path.Why You'll Like Working Here:Consistent workloads and structured schedules that support work-life balanceOvertime opportunities may be available based on production needsA team-oriented, supportive shop environmentA long-standing aerospace company with a strong reputation and futureA workplace that values craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvementOpportunities to apply and grow specialized welding skillsMeaningful work that contributes to safe and reliable aircraft systemsA respectful, inclusive, and employee-focused cultureWhat You'll Do:Set up, adjust, and operate TIG (GTAW) welding equipment for aerospace components including castings and sheet metalPerform weld repairs, cosmetic weld build-up, and standard joint configurations in accordance with specificationsComplete moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks using established processes and techniquesFollow job operation sheets, weld schedules, drawings, and technical instructions to complete work accuratelyPerform plug welds and weld repairs on a variety of metals including magnesium, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and mild steelInspect and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection toolsIdentify and communicate potential quality or process concerns (red flags)Maintain required weld certifications and qualificationsSupport development work, fixturing, and process improvements as neededEnsure all work meets quality, safety, and customer requirementsMaintain accurate documentation and completion of required process recordsWork independently while collaborating with team members, engineering, and quality personnelMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with Lean/6S practicesFollow all company safety policies and properly handle materials and equipmentPerform additional duties as assignedWhat You Bring:Required:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experienceAbility to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentationStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safetyAbility to perform mathematical calculations relevant to welding and fabricationPreferred:Welding trade school certification or equivalent experienceExperience welding aerospace components and working with close tolerancesFamiliarity with NADCAP, FAA, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsExperience with magnesium, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and mild steelExperience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers)Ability to meet AWS D17.1 visual acceptance criteriaPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent use of hands for precise, repetitive motions and tool operationAbility to lift and move materials up to 50 lbsComfortable working in an environment with noise, heat, and welding equipmentPre-Employment Requirements:Background checkAlcohol and drug screening (includes FAA/DOT compliance for safety-sensitive roles)Growth & Development:Opportunity to maintain and expand advanced welding certificationsExposure to aerospace quality and regulatory standards (FAA, NADCAP)Hands-on experience working with highly skilled manufacturing professionalsOpportunities to contribute to process improvements and technical developmentLong-term career growth within aerospace repair and precision manufacturingWe welcome applicants of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
