Job description
Welder IIHours: Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm Friday (when in overtime) 5am-10am/NoonSummary: A Welder II joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Reviews blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Cleans and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specifiedProduce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipmentPrepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per printMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety proceduresNotifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredAdheres to company quality protocols and processesPerform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbookPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementPerform duties with safety first quality mind setSkills and Abilities:Performs daily duties with minimal supervisionHas the ability to efficiently read, interpret, and weld a good part from the weld printConsistently welds tier two parts to standard using work instructionsAbility to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measuresVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmQualifications:1-3 years of related work experienceMust be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld test with a score of 80 or higherPhysical Requirements:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
