Job description

WelderBoyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a welder in our Lancaster, PA location.Primary functions:The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual welder to tungsten inert gas (TIG) weld components according to the specifications. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will have a direct impact on our operational success and customer satisfaction.Essential functions:Operate manual welder to TIG weld components safely according to specifications (aluminum).Follow weld instructions and complete projects based on blueprintsUnderstand and execute verbal instructions from manufacturing leadership regarding job orders to determine product specifications.Perform tack-weld functions to join metal work pieces at specified distances.Inspect and record quality requirements of finished work pieces.Use all safety devices/tools to ensure safe operation of welding processes.Ensure work area is kept clean and organized at all times.Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.Participate in cross-training throughout manufacturing facility. Dependent upon company need, may be posted in alternate work assignment.All other duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles/80 kilometers) of the {Location} facility will be considered.Preferred:High school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or technical school diploma or equivalent in relevant work experience preferred5+ years related experience and/or training preferredWelding certificate preferredAbility to successfully pass weld exams, if necessaryProficient in accurate use of micrometers, calipers, and other measuring toolsAbility to read and work to set tolerances and work from blueprintsAbility to set-up and operate welding machineMechanically inclined and possess strong degree of attention to detailBasic mathematical skills required to set-up and operate welding processAbility to be cross-trained throughout manufacturing facilityAbility to work in a team fostered environmentAbility to work overtime and weekends when neededPhysical demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to feel sharp edges on parts.
