Job description
Tack WelderA Level I tack welder uses several short bursts of heat from equipment to create a temporary weld between two metal joints. It works through the same process as creating a full weld but is used only for temporary joints. Job responsibilities are not limited to tack welding.Qualified as a tack welderDemonstration of the ability to safely use grinders and hand toolsTack welding of sub-assembliesTest products or subassemblies for functionality or qualityTroubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or productsBuild product subassemblies or final assembliesPrepare and assemble materialsSet up and operate production equipment/tooling in accordance with current manufacturing practices and standard operating proceduresMaintain accurate inventory of job materialsProvide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisorsSet up and verify the functionality of safety equipmentStart up and shut down processing equipmentAdhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.Clean production equipment or work areasHigh School Diploma or GED.Documentation of welding skills, teamwork, coordination, organization, planning, time management, reporting skills, inventory control, data entry skills, dependability, basic understanding of welding processes.
