This position also maintains a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.ResponsibilitiesMust maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and proceduresHelp create a safety culture and actively engage the workforce in projects that will help reach our journey to zero incidentsSet up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure SpecificationRead and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirementsTIG weld steel, aluminum and stainless-steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawingsEnsure work is done safely and meets quality standardsFollow, create and help maintain Welding Procedure SpecificationsSet up welding cells for serial production runsOperate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operatorsKeep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilitiesProvide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given taskFollow all safety rules and quality standardsWork with team members to maximize productivity and efficiencyPerform other duties as trained and qualified forSkills and AbilitiesPossess excellent customer service skillsAbility to interact with customers and team-members in a professional mannerAbility to work independently and prioritize responsibilitiesMust have excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenRequires proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measureBasic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, internet and emailStrong mechanical maintenance experience and strong knowledge hand and power toolsExperience with steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel requiredExperience with TIG welding a mustKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsAbility to identify and measure materialAbility to produce quality products consistentlyThe ability to read and comprehend blueprintsThe ability to interact effectively with all employeesMinimum QualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experienceOne year of TIG welding experienceMust be able to pass TIG welding test within six weeksRequires the ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentMust have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipmentReliable transportation is a mustAbility to work nights and weekends, as requiredAbility to work overtime, as requiredBackground checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)Preferred QualificationsExperience working in an industrial setting2+ years of manufacturing experienceSolid background working with metalKnowledge of tooling and tool maintenanceProven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skillsAbility to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and BrassPhysical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions.
