This position requires skill in interpreting blueprints, fabricating materials to specification, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.What You'll DoRead and understand blueprints and drawings prior to starting projectsSource materials needed to complete assigned workMeasure and cut materials to precise specificationsInspect finished work to ensure it meets tolerances outlined in prints or drawingsUse necessary tools and equipment to perform metal fabrication tasksSafely use cutting torches, heating, and burning equipmentSafely operate saws, grinders, presses, and other fabrication toolsFollow instructions and complete assigned work efficientlyLift a minimum of 50 pounds as required for job dutiesThis job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.What We're Looking ForMinimum of one year of welding or fabricating experiencePhysical ability to perform assigned tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periodsMust have tools necessary to perform metal fabrication workKnowledge of operating cutting torches, heating and burning equipmentProficiency with saws, grinders, presses, and related toolsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and drawingsMust be able to pass a welding testAbility to follow instructions accurately and efficientlyFlexibility to work more than eight hours per day, nights, or weekends as neededGeneral labor and construction skillsKnowledge of operating other construction equipment and instruments is a plusZachry Construction Corporation performs heavy civil and building work throughout the United States.
