Job description

Welder PositionIn this role, the welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate techniques and using various welding devices. The ideal candidate will bring technical know-how and an innovative mindset to drive industry-leading solutions.ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, weld symbols, bills of materials, and written instructions to accurately create equipment and productsDesign and build basic and/or complex structures, supports, or frameworks during daily tasks. Ability to create weldment setups and fixturing, basic understanding of BIW fixtures, locating pins, clamps, and troubleshooting part misalignment/clamp sequencingWeld using GMAW, MIG process to perform oxy/acetylene torch, plasma arc cutting processes. Demonstrate knowledge of weld symbols, joint types (butt, fillet, lap), and hands-on experience with single-sided/double-sided welding techniques. Maintain inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumablesApply welding process knowledge, including wire feed speed, voltage, gas flow rate, familiarity with spatter control, arc stability, burn-through prevention, and weld sequencing to reduce distortionSet up and fine-tune weld parameters based on material & thickness, and use of weld schedules/parameter sheets. Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill gun, and grinders to operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand toolsFamiliarity with Fanuc, KUKA, or ABB welding robots, ability to teach points or adjust torch angles & offsets, and understand robot cell safety and I/O diagnosticsPerform weld quality inspections via visual checks (porosity, undercut, overlap), use of weld gauges & calipers and familiarity with destructive (peel, macro etch) and non-destructive testing (ultrasound, X-ray) methods.
