Job description
Steel FabricatorLays out, burns and fits, assembles, and welds fabricated, cast, and structural steel components and structural forms such as guards, chutes, baffles, back sheets, and other miscellaneous components, following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications, by performing the following duties.Selects equipment and plans layout, welding, and assemblyLays out, positions, aligns, and fits components togetherWill need to determine if parts are Left Hand or Right Hand based on blueprintsBolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for weldingSets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipmentAssembles parts by bolting. May set up and test equipmentMay also perform all functions of an AssemblerRepairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling partsOperates, magnetic drills, grinders, reamers, torch cutting and impacts as necessaryWill assist in other areas as neededMust be able to read a tape measure and printsMust be able to read and understand a square and protractorMust be proactive and a self-starterMust have good attendanceMust be able to work overtimeMust work well with othersDeister offers a competitive wages and a benefits package that includes paid vacation, vision, dental, medical and employer contributions to 401k.
