As a member of our team you'll enjoy excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, and an encouraging culture that supports work / life balance.Scope of Position: The Welder Operator on the Vinyl Line is to operate a welder press to weld vinyl window frames. The Welder Operator will be responsible for gathering the window parts and will place them in the welder press correctly to successfully melt/weld the parts together. Once welded and cooled the Welder Operator will pass the frame down the line to the cleaning area. Quality control paperwork will be filled out daily to ensure the highest level of productivity is achieved while maintaining quality specifications. Compliance with all safety programs is required.Primary Responsibilities include:Reading work orders and welding various window parts to specification.Insure structurally sound integrity of each weld.Maintain a steady flow of production by partnering with the Saw Operators, Frame Punchers and Cleaner Operators.Working with the Production Manager, Area Coordinator and Team Leader to ensure manufacturing and quality performance standards are maintained.Cross-training in production duties.Completing and mastering the job with the highest level of safety and accuracy.Listening and applying feedback from management to produce quality products.Other tasks, as assigned.Job Requirements:Experience in a production role or a manufacturing environment preferred.Possess the ability and desire to cross-train into other job functions, if needed.Displays positive attitude and confidence.Team player with excellent communication skills.Accepts and implements coaching and advice from leaders and management.Must be able to accurately read a tape measurer.Basic knowledge and computer skills are required.Physical Requirements:Able to function in a fast paced environment.Able to push, pull, bend, and lift at least 25lbs.Able to stand for long periods of time.Other physical duties, as needed.Why Clayton?Full-time team members have the flexibility to create their own health, dental, and vision benefits package.
