Step into a role where your talent directly benefits communities across the state!Description Of WorkThis position supports the safe and efficient operation of transportation equipment and structures through skilled welding and fabrication work. As a Welder, you will perform the following duties:Metal Preparation: Prepare and clean metals for welding and layout materials for accurate cuts and fitsWelding Operations: Perform structural and equipment work using arc welding, acetylene welding, and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) weldingFabrication Work: Fabricate repair parts and equipment modifications for a variety of applicationsEquipment Repair: Repair frames, plow components, trailer parts, and similar transportation equipmentTool Operation: Operate power tools and air tools safely to support welding and fabrication tasksSafety Practices: Maintain a safe workspace and follow proper safety procedures during all dutiesInterested in learning more? Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Required Experience, Training & EligibilityQualificationsMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; orCompletion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; orCompletion of an approved welder apprentice program; orA welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirements:This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.How to Apply:Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
