Location: Reno Employment Status: Hourly Full-Time Function: Manufacturing Pay Range: $22-$27 per hour Target Bonus: 5 % Req ID: 30069Job Responsibilities We are seeking a motivated Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and assembly activities related to the production of custom machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will be able to read blueprints, work with a variety of metals, operate fabrication equipment, and consistently produce high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.Essential FunctionsPerform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel and/or aluminum componentsFabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and custom machinery according to blueprints and specificationsLayout, measure, and align parts prior to welding using squares, calipers, and other measuring toolsRead and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructionsOperate fabrication equipment such as grinders, cutting torches, drill presses, and sawsInspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength, and conformance to specifications; perform rework as neededMaintain welding equipment and tools in safe working conditionFollow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe material handling practicesAssist with equipment assembly, testing, and other production tasks as neededSetup and adjust welding equipment according to material type and thicknessMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standardsComplete required documentation accurately and in a timely mannerPerform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requiresJob RequirementsRequired SkillsHigh school diploma/GED OR equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick weldingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawingsStrong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and toolsAbility to perform basic measurements and layout using tools such as tape measures and calipersBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to lift and manipulate large fabricated components using cranes, hoists, or other material handling equipmentUncompromising attitude toward safety, quality, and customer serviceStrong working knowledge of basic hand toolsWillingness to work overtime and weekends as neededPreferred SkillsWelding certification (AWS or equivalent)Familiarity with electrical components and wiringExperience operating forklifts, cranes, or overhead hoistsExperience working with custom machinery or industrial equipmentPrevious experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must have the ability to maintain steady hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision welding tasks. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, including while wearing a welding helmet.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is primarily in a manufacturing setting where the employee is regularly exposed to welding-related hazards. These include high heat, sparks, open flames, fumes, airborne particles, and bright light (UV/arc flash). The employee may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise levels that require hearing protection, and temperature fluctuations. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times and may include welding helmets, flame-resistant clothing, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection. The role may involve working in tight spaces, at varying heights, or in proximity to other employees and operating equipment.
