Job description
Welder/FabricatorThe welder/fabricator will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work on various types of heavy equipment and machinery, including paving equipment, dump trucks, and other construction vehicles. This is a shop-based position that requires expert knowledge in welding metal and aluminum, along with strong fabrication skills and the ability to work independently.Responsibilities:Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel and aluminum componentsFabricate, modify, and repair parts, frames, and structural components on heavy equipment and paving machineryRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsUse cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely and efficientlyCollaborate with mechanics and equipment operators to identify structural issues and recommend solutionsEnsure all welds meet strength and quality standardsMaintain clean, safe, and organized work environmentFollow all safety guidelines and procedures as outlined by company and OSHA standardsQualifications:Minimum of 8 years of experience in welding and fabrication, specifically with metal and aluminumExtensive experience working on heavy construction equipment and paving equipmentProficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniquesSkilled in cutting, grinding, bending, and fitting materialsAbility to read and work from technical drawings and schematicsMust be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and self-motivatedWelding certifications a plus but not requiredHigh school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferredPay: $25-28/hr plus full benefits
