Job description
Welder PositionAs a welder, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Layout, fit up and all welding and related fabrication processes on low complexity aluminum and/or steel/stainless steel weldments/partsReceives tacked medium complexity aluminum or steel/stainless steel weldments from senior welders to complete full weld-out and straightening operations to tight tolerances and in accordance with manufacturing instructionsCleans and prepares parts for welding by wire brushing, abrasive shot blast, and aqueous or solvent cleaningCompletes straightening operations on parts and assemblies other than weldmentsCollaborative welding robot operation including:Loads fixture tooling with subassembly components for tack-up and full weld-outVerifies accurate Tool Center Point (TCP) and calibration utilizing both laser TCP tool and manual methods prior to production operationsRuns pre-programmed welding operations verifying parameters are producing good bead profile and fusion in accordance with inspection criteriaCommunicates problems/errors during operation to engineering/supervision for the purpose of corrective actionChecks/corrects sub-assemblies for flatness/straightness following Cobot operationsGrinding, straightening, and metal finishing to meet final product finish requirementsUtilizes jigs, fixtures, table setups, clamps and angle plates precisely as specified by work instructions and/or group leader/supervision direction to produce the correct shapes and dimensionsSets up, qualifies and runs spot welding equipment in accordance with specified proceduresInterprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and follows written and/or verbal instructionsSets up and maintains welding equipmentFollows welding sequences precisely as specified by work instructions and/or group leader/supervision to minimize heat distortion and straightening requirementsMaintains workstation/cell in organized manner and in compliance with any applicable safety standardsWorks in time-critical situations in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where programs, setups, and tooling are constantly changing and interacts effectively with associates & management as priorities shiftReceives and provides cross-training for other tasks related to department functions and proceduresRecommends and executes changes to achieve process improvements and/or cycle time reductionsUses precision measuring tools such as vernier caliper, micrometers, and various welding inspection toolsOther job-related duties as required by managementPhysical condition allowing:Lifting 50 poundsStanding, sitting, bending, walking, 10+ hours per dayPersonal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and wearing a respirator when requiredWorks with others and cross-shift with others on the same workEmploys various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, squares, and straight edgesWash, mask, shot/abrasive blast, and apply metal flame spray to parts and weldments per established manufacturing instructionsAdheres to safety guidelines and the correct procedures for performing tasks to prevent personal injury or damage to product and/or equipmentFurther information about this opportunity is available in Archbald, Pennsylvania.Basic qualifications:Ability to qualify and retain qualifications necessary of the welds being performedExperience on aluminum or steel/stainless steel parts and assemblies in accordance with supplied instructionsAbility to work safely with chemicals such as solvents, acidic and alkaline solutions, and aqueous cleanersCan read and understand blueprints and sketches with respect to welding symbols and differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threadsProficiently uses various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, burr removal, squares, and straight edges and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scalesDesired skills:Quick learnerKnowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Brazing experienceFlame/plasma cutting experienceVocational or trade school certification or equivalent experienceExperience in thin and thick section weldingPay rate for this position is $28.73 - $28.73 per hour.
