Welder Technician IIIEaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Welder Technician III to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA! The core hours average 54 per week between 6 am - 4:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $24.20 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What You'll Do:The Welder Technician III is responsible for setting up and performing advanced metal joining and cutting operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, aluminum, and cast metals, with or without fixtures. This role supports fabrication and welding of structural assemblies, telecommunications shelters, skids, and other modular product lines in support of plant operations, while meeting Eaton's quality and safety standards.Fibrebond, an Eaton company, designs and manufactures pre integrated modular buildings and power enclosures that protect mission critical equipment for data center, industrial, utility, and communications customers. In 2025, Fibrebond was acquired by Eaton, expanding Eaton's modular solutions portfolio while preserving Fibrebond's strong engineering expertise, customer focus, and manufacturing operations in Louisiana.In this function you will:Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to perform advanced welding and fabrication of structural and mechanical components, including floors, walls, roofs, and assembliesSet up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG welding and other required welding processes across plant operationsPerform high-quality welds and fabrication tasks in accordance with blueprint requirements and supervisor directionGrind, finish, inspect, and clean welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance to specificationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety procedures, performing housekeeping duties, and supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiativesCommunicate effectively by reporting equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or irregularities to leadershipSupport Eaton's goals and philosophies through teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvementPerform other job duties as assignedQualifications:Required (Basic) QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED from an accredited institutionWelding certifications in basic welding and MIG welding from a technical college or equivalent program from an accredited institution.Prior welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including sheet metal fabrication using standard punch and bend tooling and processesMust successfully pass 1G and 3G X-rayed weld tests.No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced experience reading and interpreting blueprintsExperience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices (e.g., grinder, saw, tape measure)Experience welding complex structural assemblies or fabricated componentsSkills & Physical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, grip, stoop, lift, carry, push and pull, and use hands for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push or pull 50 lbs. or more, with or without reasonable accommodationVision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discriminationAbility to read a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch and apply basic math skills to blueprint specificationsAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and exercise good judgment with strong attention to detailAbility to read, comprehend, and assimilate technical informationAbility to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employeesAbility to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets, processes, and customer informationRequired to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, protective eyewear, and steel-toed bootsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, drawings, and operating instructions
