Job description
Welder PositionThe Welder will operate specialized welding machines to join sheet metal components, ensuring high-quality construction for elevator parts. This position requires technical skill, precision, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic shop environment.Essential FunctionsOperate single and multi-head spot welding equipment.Operate Tig welderOperate Mig welderSet up welding machines according to specifications and project requirements.Inspect and test welds for strength, durability, and precision.Clean and maintain welding tips and equipment as needed.Perform manual handling of materials using small hand tools.Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately.Position QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication and welding.Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.Skills & AbilitiesStrong work ethic with a desire to develop comprehensive manufacturing skills.Knowledge of welding processes and steel fabrication.Ability to lift heavy materials up to 100 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.Familiarity with using small tools and machinery.Ability to handle multiple tasks, take direction, and complete assignments on time.Ability to read and interpret blueprintsPhysical and Working ConditionsRegularly requires walking, standing, bending, and stooping.Must have good manual dexterity and vision to handle objects and perform detailed work.Primarily works in a shop environment with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
